Use Resources, Find Templates, and Get the Ball Rolling!

During the website design and development process, it is important to use available resources in order to save time.

There is no point in re-inventing the wheel when it has already been invented, and in the design world, recycling innovative ideas, site features, and
design aesthetics is the name of the game.

For instance, designers must use details that the user is already familiar with, such as using a gear icon to access settings or preferences options. Users
associate the gear icon with settings, so there is no reason to try to change that. In the web world, if it has been done before and it has been proven
to be successful, then designers should embrace it and continue to use it. If you find a well-documented code resource that suits your needs, then
that is the best place to start!

There are countless tutorials, code generators, and powerful tools that can be used to speed up the workflow process and allow designers to focus on their
creative ideas, rather than getting stuck creating elements from scratch. The most useful resources that we’ve found to speed up our design process
are icon packs and UI kits. These documents are fully editable Photoshop or Illustrator files that can easily be customized to suit your needs. These
resources allow the designer to focus on the end goals that the client would like to achieve, and how to reach those goals. It was Picasso that said,
“Good artists borrow, great artists steal”. This quote should not serve as an invitation for designers to be lazy, but as inspiration to take something
that’s already out there and transform it into something of your own.
